Comparing the welcome packages — terms checked July 2026
Every operator below is licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (Fresh Horizons Ltd, licence #00972), runs on Microgaming (Games Global) software, accepts players across the rest of Canada, and blocks Ontario. The match percentages and wagering below are the offer structure, checked against each operator’s published terms — exact C$ maximums and current terms are shown on each operator’s own site. (How wagering works, and why it decides a bonus’s real value, is explained below the table.)

The practical takeaway that surprised us: the wagering column doesn’t differentiate them at all. All four publish the identical term — 200x play-through on the 1st and 2nd deposit bonuses before bonus funds convert to cash (each brand’s own terms page, read and captured July 2026; this supersedes the lower 30x/60x figures previously reported for these brands). What actually differs is the match structure. Casino Action front- and back-loads its package with two 100% matches but expects a larger opening deposit. UK Casino Club saves its biggest match (110%) for the fifth deposit, so its value is weighted toward players who complete the whole sequence. All four are Casino Rewards brands, so they also share the group’s low 10x wagering on loyalty Bonus Spins — separate from the welcome-bonus wagering above (see our Casino Rewards casinos guide) — and all run the Mega Moolah jackpot network.
What a casino welcome bonus gives you in Canada
A welcome bonus matches a share of your deposit with bonus funds — a 100% match doubles your money, a 50% match adds half. At the offshore brands serving players outside Ontario, the welcome offer is almost always a multi-deposit package: instead of one large match, you get a different percentage on each of your first four or five deposits. The headline number is the sum of all of them, which you only reach by making every deposit in the sequence.
The figure on the banner is not what matters most. Two offers with the same headline can be worth very different amounts once you account for the wagering requirement — so that is where any honest comparison has to start.
Wagering requirements — the number that decides a bonus’s value
Wagering (also called playthrough) is how many times you must bet a bonus before its winnings become withdrawable. It is the single most important term in any welcome offer:
- A 100% match with 60x wagering on a C$100 bonus means you must place C$6,000 of bets before withdrawing.
- The same C$100 bonus at 30x needs only C$3,000 — half the playthrough for the same money.
Two more things shape the real cost:
- Game weighting — slots typically count 100% toward wagering; blackjack, roulette and other table games often count 10% or less, so clearing a bonus on tables takes far longer.
- Which deposits carry the bonus — in a multi-deposit package, each deposit’s match has its own wagering, so the effective cost builds up across the sequence.
A useful rule: a smaller match at low wagering usually beats a bigger match at high wagering. Always divide the work (wagering) by the reward (bonus) before deciding an offer is generous. And every package has an entry price — the smallest deposit that qualifies for the match, typically C$10 at the brands covered here. Our minimum deposit casinos guide lists the verified figure for every brand and separates offer-qualifying minimums from cashier minimums.
Why these offers don’t reach Ontario
These welcome packages stop at Ontario’s border. The province’s regulated market (iGaming Ontario / AGCO) restricts public bonus advertising and admits only registered operators — and the offshore brands here aren’t among them, so they block Ontario and serve the rest of Canada. In Ontario, an AGCO-registered site is the only route to a legal welcome offer.
How we judge a welcome bonus
We score a welcome offer on what it costs you to clear, not the banner figure:
- Wagering multiplier — the headline term; lower is better, and 30x beats 60x for the same match.
- Match shape across deposits — whether the strong matches land on deposits you’ll actually make.
- Minimum deposit — a larger required opening stake changes who the offer suits.
- Game weighting and time limits — how quickly winnings must be wagered, and on which games.
- Withdrawal terms — a bonus you can’t realistically clear before it expires is worth nothing.
Bonuses, budgets and staying in control
The legal gambling age across most of Canada is 19 (18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). A welcome bonus is built to pull in more and larger deposits, so set a deposit limit before you claim one and treat the bonus funds as entertainment, not income. Offshore operators provide self-exclusion, deposit caps and time-out tools. If gambling stops being fun, see our responsible gambling resources for free, confidential support.
